age of Maharajas and Maharanis, Kings and Queens. This exotic train
will carry you to two of the world's most culturally fascinating states
of Rajasthan and Gujarat. You cross the great Indian desert at nights
and take day trips to charming places of tourist interest. By luxury
coaches we will transport you to palaces and forts steeped in legends
of heroism and chivalry. You will feel the spirituality of ancient
Jain templecity. You will soak your feet in warm waters of the Arabian
Sea and enjoy safari in jungles to see lions, the only ones outside

The
Royal Orient has been provided with personalised service by liveried
attendants that only royalty was privileged. Thirteen coaches and
saloons have been made for you, inspired from the palaces of mighty
kingdoms, for seven memorable days. You will wake up to see Aravalli
horizon, watching the moon lift slowly up the twilight to glimmer

Day
1 Wednesday: Delhi
Meeting at noon in Delhi Cantonement Railway station. Officers of
Gujarat Tourism will be available to greet you. Memorable journey
starts at 1500 hrs.
Day
2 Thursday: Chittaurgarh - Udaipur
Arrival at Chittaurgarh Railway Station, where traditional welcome
will be extended. You will visit historic 7th century fort, Rajasthan's
noblest, known for its tragic history. Leave for Udaipur, where you
will have lunch at Lake Palace Hotel or similar. Visit City Palace
and Royal Garden. (Sahelion ki Bari). Leave for Mehsana and dinner
on board.

3 Friday: Mehsana (Modhera) - Patan - Ahmedabad
Visit famous Sun Temple on a wheel of a chariot, built in 1026 A.D.
The temple is imposing structure and is counted among best specimens
of the Indian art and architecture. Patan once saw the rise and fall
of the great Solanki Rajput dynasty.It is home of famous Patola silk
saris.The greater reminder of the golden period of Gujarat under the
Solanki kings is the Queens's Stepwell, Rani ki Vav, built in 1050
A.D. The stepwell is the oldest and perhaps the grandest among the
120 plus stepwells in Gujarat. We come to the capital of Gujarat,
Ahmedabad. It means different things to different people. For architects,
it is a rich repository of maginficent styles - from the Indo-Saracenic
times to 15th century Muslim monuments, from the experimental modern
styles, to the legendary Le Corbusier. You will visit the Siddi Saiyad
mosque (1571A.D).with its exquisite windows of pierced stonetracery
and architectural delight. In quiet corner of Ahmedabad, called Sabarmati,
you will walk along the most revered precinet in the history of modern
India - the Gandhi Ashram. The austere habitat from where the 'Father
of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi gave human race one of its remarkable
ways of the life of non-violence. The visit to Calico Museum, one
of the finest museumsin the world, will be another memorable experience.
Day
4 Saturday: Sasan Gir (Delwada) Ahmedpur Mandvi - Diu
Arrival in Gir Forest, the only place in the world outside Africa
where the Lion can be seen in its natural habitat. Ahmedpur Mandvi
- one the fine beaches of Gujarat. Across Ahmedpur Mandvi lies the
island Diu. A sensuous blend of sun, sand and deep blue sea.
Another attraction at Diu is the fort of Diu. Leave for Palitana.
Day
5 Sunday: Palitana
After breakfast leave for temple city of Palitana, built on the peaks
of two hills joined together, where 863 temples stand in perfect shape.
The 3572 steps can be climbed or we will provide you with chairlings
free of charge to be carried on human shoulders. Lunch will be served
on board. Visit Sarkhej, an open air ----museum of Indian way of life,
with rustic delights. You have a chance to eat in Indian way, but
if you are skeptical, you can also have dinner in the train.

6 Monday Udaipur - Ranakpur
After breakfast excursion Ranakpur temples built in 1440., and made
of intricatelly sculpted white marble. It would take any body by surprise
that they are so old but so well preserved.The main temple is supported
by 1444 pillars none of which are similarly carved.You will proceed
to visit Shilpgram a village of handworkers where you have the chance
to see how work of arts are produced.
Day
7 Tuesday: Amber - Jaipur
Apart from normal sightseeing, lunch will be served at Trident Hotel
or similar. Sightseeing of Amber Fort, City Palace and Observatorium.
You will have dinner at Maurya Sheraton or similar.

8 Wednesday: Delhi
You reach back to Delhi Cantonment Railway Station early morning
at about 7.00 am - end of the memorable tour.

Royal
Orient can be booked for a minimum of 3 nights.
Children below 5 years are permitted free, but for age between
5 years & 12 years are charged only 50 %.

flights, transfers, hotel accommodation and sightseeing of Delhi;
drinks, laundry charges and personal purchases. Euro 50,- visa fees
are also not included.
Since US Dollar/ Euro prices are ever changing, you can either pay in
US Dollar, which remains unchanged or in Euro, which will be calculated
on the rate prevailing on the day of payment. Booking will only be
considered effective when an advance is received by us. If full payment is not received before
60 days of departure, the booking will automatically be cancelled.
