Times have changed and winds have shifted, but the Palace on Wheels cruises along in its unique style, the kind only the Maharajas of yesteryears could have perpetuated and enjoyed. Today, of course, each traveller on board is treated like royalty in his or her own right.The exquisite & exclusive Palace on Wheels has luxurious cabins, wall-to-wall carpeting, a well stocked bar, two dining cars, and a personalised service, infact everything that could comprise of heaven on earth for a whole week.

ITINERARY: Delhi - Jaipur - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore) - Chittaurgarh - Udaipur - Bharatpur - Agra - Delhi

Day 1 Wednesday
Delhi Cantonement Railway Station reporting time 1500 hrs.at the Railway Station. Departure at 17.45 hrs.Dinner is served between 1930 to 2230 hrs in the train

Day 2 Thursday - Jaipur
First stop is Jaipur at 0730 hrs. The city is one of the most well planned cities of the world and is known as the Pink City.It was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727. Explore the city in an airconditioned coach.Pass by Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, which is a five storeyed structure with carved trellis work, and also visit Amber Fort, 8kms away, where rides on caparisoned elephants add to the ambience. Shop for Jaipur`s famous jewellery, handicrafts, carpets, blue pottery and textiles. After lunch drive to City Palace, home of the erstwhile royal family. Across the road is the Jantar Mantar, observatory built by Sawai Jai Singh. Depart for Jaisalmer at 17.30 hrs.

Day 3 Friday - Jaisalmer
Arrive at 0615 hrs. Breakfast in the train. In the heart of the Thar desert lies Jaisalmer.The city was founded by Rawal Jaisal in 1156.The yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering magnificently on the shimmering sandscape.Discover the painstakingly latticed havelis(house of rich persons) with their grand facades. which are fine examples of the stone carver`s skill. After lunch, go for an exciting camel ride on the sand dunes of Sam. Leave for Jodhpur at 2300 hrs.

Day 4 Saturday - Jodhpur, you reach at 0800 hrs.
Breakfast in the train and visit the Palacen Jodhpur is city ringed by a high stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. This second largest city of Rajasthan was founded by Rao Jodha in 1459, is known for its rock solid Mehrangarh Fort. The grand Palaces are impreseive examples of architectural excellence. After lunch at Umaid Bhavan Palace Hotel visit Jaswant Thada, a group of white marble royal cenotaphs. Depart for Sawai Madhopur at 15.30.

Day 5 Sunday - Sawai Madhopur - (Ranthambhor) Chittaurgarh
One can almost sense life of the wilderness, as the Palace on Wheels arrives in Sawai Madhopur, a city named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I. A visit is arranged to the Ranthambhor National Park, located amids the ruins of 10th centrury Fort. This santurary is considered the country's best for observing and photographing the activities of wild animals. The Park covering an area of 393 sq.kms is home to more than 300 species of birds and of Tiger,hynas,ratels,jackals,foxes etc. You leave for Chittaurgarh at 1100 hrs.Lunch in the train. You arrive in Chittaurgarh at 1600 hrs. You begin with a visit to the fort,lauded in legends of valour and chivalry. Chittor was ravanged and plundered thrice and the womenfold performed "Jauhar, (self burning in open fire) to protect their honour.. Depart at 2000 hrs.

Day 6 Udaipur - Shilpgram
You arrive in Udaipur early morning . You visit Shilpgram , Art and Craft village selling articles from four states. Perhaps four most beautiful sites of Udaipur are the dream like marble palaces - the Jag Nivas and Jag Mandir,which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola.. You will have lunch in Lake Palace. You also visit Sahelionki Bari ,the Royal Garden Park. After a day full of delights and after evening tea, the coach takes you back to the Palace on Wheels winding up a day full of delights. You depart at 2000 hrs.

Day 7 Tuesday - Bharatpur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
Early next morning at 0600 hrs, the Palace at Wheels arrives in Bharatpur.Visit to the world famous bird sanctuary, Keoladeo Ghana National Park, the nesting place for thousands of Egrets, Siberian Cranes, water Fowls and other species of birds. After breakfast, arrive at Fatehpur Sikri - the best planned city of its time built by Akbar the Great with red sand stone. Within the enclosure is a mausoleum built by the Mughal Emperor, and dedicated to Sheikh Salim Chishti, a Muslim saint who blessed the Emperor with a son. Now you proceed to Agra. After lunch, visit the Red Fort and arrive at the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. A pristine monument of undying love. It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal .Agra is known for its splendid marble inlay work. Departure for Delhi at 2300 hrs.

Day 8 Wednesday - Delhi
After nights` sleep in comfort on board, arrive in Delhi next morning approx 0700 hrs and let the pleasant memories of the past week linger on your mind for a long, long time.

Feel like royalty on board the Palace on Wheels, a completely self sufficient train.***Fully airconditioned, the train comprises of 14 deluxe saloons, equipped with amenities to enhance the pleasure of travelling. *** Each saloon is a combination of 4 twin bedded chambers, channel music, intercom, attached toilets, running hot & cold water and a shower.***.There are four coupes to each coach, with wall-to-wall carpeting, a lounge , a library, a bar with a stock of the finest spirits and two dining cars - the Maharaja and the Maharaniserving Continental, Indian and Rajasthani cuisine.***What`s more, each saloon has personal attendants or " Khidmatgars", who are at your call.

- Children under 5 years are free. Children between 5-12 years pay 50%.
- Payment in USD oder Euro on the valid rate of Exchange prevailing on the day of payment.
Note: 10% surcharge shall be levied on departures during Christman/New Year.
Please insure yourself against all risks and cancellation charges. Tariff is all inclusive of travel/catering/conducted sightseeing/entrance fee at monuments/parks/palaces/cultural programmes/camel and Elephant ride/boat ride/rickshaw ride and for still cameras, except for video cameras, liquor, laundry and other items of personal nature. The reservation/ cancellation of passengers on the Palace on Wheels may be done as per the following terms & conditions. Payments required: 20% at the time of booking and 80% 30 days prior to departure.

(iii) between 15-29 days of departure: 50% (iv) between 14 days of departure: 100%

If full payment is not received before 60 days of departure, booking will automatically be cancelled. Cancellation charges will be regulated as above. Euro 50,- Visa fees is also not included.
